Models and model sets
The pipeline is split into roles. Each role can use its own model, local or cloud.

Model sets: which model does which task
A model set is a named choice of model for each role, for example Local only, Cloud for the LLM, local voices or Fast draft. You switch model sets in one click in the plugin.
Model sets sync both ways: change one in My account › Models and the plugin picks it up; change it in the plugin and the account shows it. If both changed, the newer version wins. Model sets never contain keys or local file paths.
Local and cloud
- Local models run on your PC (LM Studio, Ollama or your own folders). Nothing leaves the machine.
- Cloud models (for example Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, ElevenLabs) get only the requests for the role you switched to the cloud. Each role is clearly marked local or cloud, and the Local only model set blocks every cloud call.
Provider keys
You choose where a cloud key lives:
- On the portal. Add it in My account › Providers and keys. It is stored encrypted and the plugin never sees it: requests go through the portal's OpenAI-compatible proxy, which adds the key, applies your limits and records usage.
- Only locally. Enter the key in the plugin. It stays in Windows Credential Manager, the studio server calls the provider directly and the portal never knows the key.
Catalog
The portal keeps a catalog of models we checked against the scene schema, with VRAM needs, download links, recommended settings and the license of each model. The plugin uses it to suggest what to download for each role.
Some licenses limit where a model may run on your own PC. Under its licence the local MiniMax H3 weights cannot be used in the US, the EU, the UK or South Korea; there only the cloud MiniMax H3 through the portal is available. More in the terms.
